Cardiac Electrophysiology


Dr. Diaz obtained is medical degree at the Universidad Industrial de Santander, Bucaramanga, Colombia. He then completed his internship, residency and fellowships at the University of Miami – Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami, Fl, between 1999 and 2006. He is board certified in Cardiovascular Medicine and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Diaz resides in the state of Central Florida, where he has a busy private practice, performing over 600 procedures per year. He has served as Director of the Electrophysiology Program at Central Florida Regional Hospital, Sanford, Fl, since his foundation in 2006. He also led Advent Health Waterman, Tavares, Fl, to start its complex ablation program in 2017. In the recent past, he also participated as consultant and proctor at the Fundación Cardiovascular de Colombia.

Despite his multiple clinical responsibilities, Dr. Diaz also participates in education and research, with several publications and collaborative studies in the field of Electrophysiology. His areas of interest atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, 3-D mapping, lead and device extraction, new ablation techniques for the treatment of cardiac arrythmias.

Dr. Diaz is an active member of the American College of Cardiology and Heart Rhythm Society.
